We are student will be entrepreneur

         As a students of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program of University Utara Malaysia (UUM) from semester 1 session 2015/2016, we have been to do an assignment about the successful entrepreneur whether from inside our country or world successful entrepreneur. We must explain relevant entrepreneurial traits and analyze through application on successful entrepreneur. We also need to choose a successful entrepreneur with trait provides such as networked, open risk taker, observant, visionary, failure is an option, open culture, outcome oriented, team oriented and proactive. From the trait provides, we need to explain it with the correct entrepreneur. In the class, we are divided into some group which is one group has five members. The purpose why we divided into group is we need to do it together to completed our assignment. In our group, there are five members which are Bavithra A/P Rajandran, Isma Zati Binti Nasriman, Mimmy Adryiella Binti Pilim, Nor Atikah Binti Mat Nawi and Wan Nurul Afiq Bin Wan Abu Bakar. 

Conclusion

          Finally, we found that there are many successful entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Within many entrepreneur in Malaysia, we have decided to choose 10 successful entrepreneur for our group assignment which is Christy Ng is the owner Christyng.com (shoes shop) ,YB Tan Sri Rozali Ismail as the Executive Chairman of SYABAS, Faiza Bawumi Sayed Ahmad who is the CEO of Syarikat Faiza Sdn. Bhd, Dato Tan Sri Vincent Tan is the Chairman of Berjaya Entreprise, Datuk Dr.Hasmiza Othman is the owner of Vida Beauty, Noraini Binti Ahmad who is also a Director of the company Noraini Enterprise, Lisa Fong as the Director of OSKAR Footwear Marketing, Leslie Wexner whose company owns Victoria’s Secret , Datuk Haji Ahmad Bin Kemin is the visinory Executive Chairman of Mutiara Motor and the entrepreneur traits with entrepreneur is Datuk Yusof Taiyoob is the owner Yusof Taiyoob Sdn. Bhd. We had choose them because they have characteristic to be successful. The nine characteristic that had been to us used is networked, open risk taker, observant, visionary, failure is an option open culture, outcome oriented, team oriented and proactive. After we decided these entrepreneur, we should explore to choose who is the entrepreneur have a characteristic like this. We get more knowledge about them because we need more motivated ourselves and be confident to do the business. In this case, it can give us an inspiration for us to keep on going successful and developed country in economic. Individual or community who want to be successful as entrepreneurs should explore and have the characteristics of entrepreneurs as discussed. Individuals have the opportunity to succeed as an entrepreneur because of the characteristics of entrepreneurship that are most entrepreneur are not born naturally, but is due to factors such as a power of initiative and high success, high internal locus of control and confidence in the abilities that make them silent so powerful on the world stage. Individual self-development process in the field of entrepreneurship is necessary in themselves an entrepreneur. This is because an entrepreneur should recognize himself in through the test and challenges of potential entrepreneurship trend.

Traits of Datuk Yusof Taiyoob

Biography :

          Datuk Yusof Bin Taiyoob, 52, is one of the successful entrepreneur in Malaysia. He comes from Georgetown, Pulau Pinang. He also a director of Yusof Taiyoob Sdn. Bhd. He has a wife named Datin Yusnita Binti Ramli and has three children, Waseem, Safiya and Safina. When he was 19, he was involved in the business of selling perfumes in Bayan Lepas International Airport. At first, sales of perfumes received encouraging response but finally plunging. The matter has caused him to get sick and eventually bounced back into a business importing food on a small scale, including dates. Yusof Taiyoob Sdn. Bhd. was established in the year 1988 and is a privately owned company based in Penang, Malaysia. Yusof Taiyoob Sdn. Bhd. has a modern storage and distribution facility located on the mainland at Bukit Minyak, Penang which accommodates 7000 metric tonnes in cold storage and 2000 metric in ambient storage for all types of food and non food products. This company is well known internationally and locally as a leading importer and distributor of dried fruits and nuts, dates, spices, herbal soaps and many other food ingredients. 

Explanation :

1)    Visionary

         Datuk Yusof Taiyoob is a visionary person. This is because he would prefer a product that should make his date branding so that people will know the product. Quality aspects emphasized by the way make a neat packaging techniques because the company's priority is customer satisfaction. The company will also provide assurance to customers if the dates are not good condition, will exchange with a new dates.

2)    Observant

      Datuk Yusof Taiyoob is an observant person. Although he is busy managing the company, he never forgot to give assistance to the less fortunate. This has become a priority as people managed to help people and is always mindful of what he always got from God. He also always look for the environment business to get an idea for increase his sales. Datuk Yusof Taiyoob success depends on the ability and their ability to search, find and seize the opportunities that exist and can be used in the future.

3)    Proactive

          Datuk Yusof Taiyoob is a proactive person. This is because he is the one who had the initiative to start and create a new venture, though it was considered a strange and foreign to others. He started her business and try to diversify date product by the opportunities identified. He has a high-power initiative in which he has a tendency to view, analyze and act proactively. Datuk Yusof Taiyoob not wait for opportunities to come rolling in. Therefore, without waiting for a long time, he runs the dates business.

4)    Failure is an option

         Datuk Yusof Taiyoob consider failure is an option for successful in life. Initially, Datuk Yusof Taiyoob was a trader perfume. At the time, he was 21 years old and many parties who ignore him because his company's sales. After failing in the perfume business, he tried various other businesses including distribute seed products flowers safron, cashew, dry food and spice. Next, he moved to form a new business, while aware of the difficulties facing to thought to be suppliers of dates in this country.

5)    Open risk taker

          Datuk Yusof Taiyoob is an open risk taker person. In order to make sure all products are guaranteed quality and fresh, he spent about RM5 million to use the latest technology in controlling the freezing cold storages. Technology imported from the United States that allow any leakage of ammonia gas can be detected early. The system is capable of automatically providing an early warning in the event of leakage. If date is not gaining sales, he was forced to bear the cost of the loss.

Definition : Proactive means “ doing something “ and the prefix pro means “ before “. So means of proactive is ready before something happens. The opposite is being reactive, or waiting for things to unfold before responding. Thing about winter cold season. A proactive person washes his hands and take vitamins and proactive person gets sick and takes cold medicine.

Introduction

          Entrepreneurship has become an important strategy in developing the economy of a country. Entrepreneur is a career that should be pursued by everyone, especially the young. There are many definition that can describe the meaning of entrepreneur. One of it is entrepreneur is a person who are able to mobilized resources and built businesses as going concern and expand such businesses using their creativity and innovativeness. In Malaysia, the government has implemented various measures and initiatives to encourage young people to enter the field of entrepreneurship. This includes the provision of training and development programs for entrepreneurs. With the training and development programs, we can reveal many successful entrepreneur.

       Other than that, a successful entrepreneur also must have strong heart to face all problems that will come. There are many successful entrepreneur in this world likes Steve Job, Bill Gates, Jack Ma and much more. In Malaysia also, we have a successful entrepreneur such as Robert Kuok, Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary, Ananda Krishnan and so on. All of this entrepreneur have overcome many challenges in life. These entrepreneur also have a clear vision and mission. They know exactly what they want and know how to go about achieving it. Therefore this trait is very important to encourage entrepreneur to be success.
